The Kalitta Air Maintenance Training facilities, located in Oscoda, Michigan combines multiple classrooms with full media support, labs for practical training exercises; computer based training stations and an on-site FAA testing center through “PSI” CATS (computer assisted testing service).

The Maintenance Training Department ensures that repair station and airline employees are properly trained to perform their assigned job functions and that Kalitta Air, LLC. is able to respond to changing training needs. We provide FAA regulatory and OSHA required training classes along with training to maintain technical proficiency and improve personnel skills.

Utilizing an FAA Approved program, the training department staff delivers instructor-led and computer-based training used for maintaining aircraft and equipment worked on by Kalitta Air, LLC. Training program emphasis is on safety and airworthiness with the goal of having employees fully trained on techniques and procedures, and competent to perform duties in accordance with FAA requirements.

By utilizing our company’s continuous analysis and surveillance program and our course development process, we gather real time data and information for course creation, allowing us to present the latest information available to maintain our fleet of aircraft and engines.

Our Staff:

Our trainers, designers and developers are highly experienced certificated mechanics, pilots and/or avionics technicians with years of aircraft maintenance experience. The instructional systems design and course development processes are utilized to develop interactive, objective-based courses with performance measurements.

Apprentice Program

Kalitta Air’s Aircraft Maintenance Apprenticeship Program is a registered apprenticeship approved by the United States Department of Labor, Office of Apprenticeship. It is being offered at the maintenance base located in Oscoda, Michigan.

The key to this program is the transfer of knowledge from the experienced A&P technician to the apprentice through technical instruction in a classroom environment and through practical experience. Interested individuals can apply for an aviation apprenticeship that will ultimately lead to the opportunity of becoming a fully licensed Airframe and Power Plant technician.

PSI / CATS FAA Airman Knowledge Testing 

Kalitta Air LLC. offers PSI-CATS Computer Testing.

PSI-CATS Computer Testing is FAA-authorized testing. It is available for all Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airman Knowledge Tests, and offers the following exams:
