Kalitta Air uses qualified maintenance repair stations around the world. Currently there are more than a dozen locations outside the United States that will conduct inspections and repairs to our aircraft, including Germany, Belgium, Bahrain, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia, China, and others. Hundreds of foreign mechanics are trained and administratively managed by the Maintenance Training Department.
The Kalitta Air Maintenance Training Department is leading the way with its advanced training techniques. Every in-person course is taught by highly qualified instructors. Additionally, we offer remote learning so that employees in outstations can be trained locally and interact with the rest of the class via the internet. They can correspond with the instructor and other classmates as if they were in the same room. Additionally, highly interactive monitors allow for remote students to see exactly what the instructor is displaying at any time. Computer-based training (CBT) is also available for students to be able to take on their own time and the pace
they choose.
The department uses the Talent Learning Management System (LMS) to provide training and test students on the required material for many of our level 1 courses. The system allows students to work at their own pace and test only when they are ready. When the student is successful, a certificate of training completion is granted. An RPA (Robotic Process Automation) program is used to automate the interactions between Talent and AMOS, our company’s database program. Additionally, we are the first company to use Airvault to automatically link on-the-job (OJT) training performed by our mechanics.
