Why Kalitta Air

Kalitta Air offers pilots 100% company-paid travel to/from work. Our pilots may live virtually anywhere in the country including Alaska and Hawaii. The company purchases positive space tickets to and from duty assignments, eliminating the stress of jumpseating to and from work that is so familiar to any airline pilot who has ever had to commute. Preferred Schedule and Comprehensive Benefits
  • $117/hr. 1st year pay with a 64-hour guarantee per month. Pilots receive full flight pay on day one of training. All flying done on an off day is paid at 150% of the pilot’s hourly rate.
  • 16 days on, 15 days off schedule. (14 days off during a 30 day month.)  Pilots have the option to bid for the more common 16 days in a row schedule or, split schedules (8 days on, 15 days off, 8 days on, for example) when available. No “junior manning.”
  • Industry-leading Blue Cross/ Blue Shield health, dental, and vision care package.
  • 12% 401(k) direct contribution.
The Fleet
Kalitta Air Operates a total of twenty-two 747-400 freighters and five 777 freighters.

In order to meet our current and projected growth in customer demand we are in the process of expanding our 777 fleet. Kalitta Air is the launch customer for the 777-300ERSF “Big Twin” with a total of eight deliveries scheduled for 2024 and 2025. In addition, there are three 777-200LRFs scheduled to arrive in 2024.

Kalitta Air flies around the Globe with destinations such as Sydney, Australia; Honolulu, Hawaii; Hong Kong, China; Los Angeles, California; and Anchorage, Alaska.

Join Our Team

Kalitta Air is seeking pilot applicants who are interested in working in the very challenging environment of providing Global Airlift. We have scheduled runs that have our pilots flying around the globe. Pilot Hiring Minimums
  • FAA Multi-Engine Airline Transport Certificate-Unrestricted
  • 1500+ hours of total time, 2000+ total time preferred
  • 1000 turbine (Jet) flight time preferred
  • 500 PIC turbine (Jet) flight time preferred
  • If Military: Turbine and PIC are flexible.
  • Current FAA Class 1 Medical Certificate
  • FCC Radio License
  • No restrictions on International Travel
  • Current US Passport
  • Ability to pass a 10-year security background check and pre-employment Drug and Alcohol test
